OSOPET MAIN ACTIVITIES Our main activities are Health Care, Community Development, Human Rights and Good Governance. HEALTH CARE ACTIVITIES: Under the Health Care project people are helped to ease the pain of the HIV/AIDS pandemic through a pediatric clinic monthly visit focusing only on HIV positive children. There are 28 children currently sponsored, and 180 still in the waiting list. COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE This is a general health care activity for all the people in the Narok North and Narok South Districts, as well as in the whole Republic of Kenya. The project aims at those sick persons with no means to see a doctor with an intention of helping to reduce preventable deaths in the seven communities in the program. We also provide clean water and sanitation to ensure that each household has clean water and a 50 meter toilet in their home compound in order to reduce water borne diseases and lack of sanitation related illnesses.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES Care of the orphans and the vulnerable children in the community by providing them with education sponsorship and establishing orphanages and schools.
Communities affected by clashes, internally displaced persons and other calamities, are provided with relief food, shelter and counseling. Children in the program area schools are provided with food for nutritional purposes. HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVITIES Rights of the children and the widows who are vulnerable due to HIV/AIDS. We help to fight the practice of child abuse.
Help to eradicate female genital mutilation and other traditional practices that encourage the spread of HIV/AIDS and poverty.
Help to promote gender equity by educating the community towards developments in leadership and in educating the girl child.
GOOD GOVERNANCE Help to empower communities in providing related education on democratic issues, impunity, hatred language, good leadership and transparency by providing civic education at grass root levels.
